The Minack Theatre - an Award-Winning Day Out
We've always thought that the unique Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, west Cornwall , was something quite special - now we have actual proof that it is! 
The stunning outdoor theatre, carved into the rock of a cliff face and boasting fantastic panoramic sea views, has been voted the Best Day Out by Travelmail readers in the Enjoy England Awards for Excellence 2009.
The Minack Theatre, imagined and created by a Victorian girl who bought the Minack headland in the 1920s for £100, has weekly performances between Easter and October each year. It is also open for day visitors throughout the year. Tickets can be booked via the theatre's website or by calling 01736 810694.

RNAS Culdrose Air Day. This annual event, taking place in Helston on Wednesday 28 July, is a must for anyone interested in aviation. As well as flying displays, there will be interactive exhibitions and a wide range of shops and stalls.

Stithians Agricultural Show. One of the largest and oldest one day shows in the country, Stithians Show takes place on Monday 12th July. The event includes cattle shows, steam and vintage vehicles, a fairground and trade stands.

Geevor Tin Mine, situated on the Atlantic Coast of the far west of Cornwall, is the largest preserved mining site in the United Kingdom
Porthcurno Telegraph Museum records the history of the telegraph station and the defensive tunnels built to house it during the Second World War
Pendennis Castle Falmouth, was built in the middle of the 16th century by Henry VIII as one of a pair of forts, with St Mawes Castle, to protect the Fal Estuary from the threat of invasion from France and Spain. There is also 'SHIPS AND CASTLES' a water park adjacent.
The Tate Gallery St Ives opened in June 1993 in a purpose-built building with five galleries offering an introduction to modern art, with special emphasis on the St Ives School of Art.
The National Maritime Museum Falmouth provides an interactive display of boats and their various functions in industry and recreation.
Land's End, with its rugged wave battered cliffs, is the most westerly point in mainland England and the most visited outdoor tourist attraction in Cornwall
THE ISLES OF SCILLY can be visited by helicoptor from Penzance or plane from St Just Airport. The Sillonian also sails daily during the summer.
